Bee and pollinator trail designed by and for children opens in the Scottish Borders

On Friday 15 June, a new trail will open at Whitmuir Farm in the Scottish Borders to teach children about why pollinating insects are important to our food supply. Displays along the Pollinator Trail, which were funded by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), were designed in part by local pupils at Newlands and West Linton Primary Schools and Beeslack Community High School.

Scottish Natural Heritage CEO to Cycle through Dumfries & Galloway

Francesca Osowska, CEO of Scottish Natural Heritage, has set herself an arduous task: cycling over 1300 miles through Scotland, divided into seven 5-day-long legs. On 29 May she sets off on the third leg, beginning in Ayr and travelling to Dumfries & Galloway with stops enroute including Newton Stewart, Carlaverock, and New Galloway. Local media and SNH staff are invited to join at any point during her journey.
