Additional £2.6m award for Highlands & Islands tourism

Four projects in the Highlands and Islands will share a £2.6 million European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) award to promote the outstanding scenery, wildlife and culture of the Highlands and Islands, the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy and Tourism, Fergus Ewing, announced today.

NatureScot calendar supports seabird charity

Last year NatureScot appealed to the nation for their treasured photos of Scotland’s rivers, coasts, seas, lochs and canals, to feature in a charity calendar marking Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters.
Keeping with the coastal theme - the Scottish Seabird Centre, the conservation and education charity based in North Berwick, was chosen by NatureScot staff to receive the fundraising total of more than £1000.

An appeal to help fund the replacement of a popular bird hide recently destroyed by fire was launched today (1 March). NatureScot’s popular Mill Hide on the shores of Loch Leven National Nature Reserve (NNR) was completely gutted in a blaze on February 18th.
