Locals invited to SNH reception in Wick

Local people in Caithness and Sutherland are being invited to an evening reception being held by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) at the Pulteney Centre on Wick’s Huddart Street on Wednesday 18 October from 7-9pm.

The reception will provide an opportunity for people to meet members of the SNH Board and local staff, and discuss a range of issues about the care and promotion of Scotland’s nature and landscapes.

Kristin Scott, area manager for the Northern Isles and North Highland said: "SNH Board Members Jackie Hyland and Robert Furness will be attending and are keen to hear the views of local people. We are also committed to understanding how we can work with the community to care for and maximise the benefits we receive from our nature and landscapes.”

SNH maintains an extensive network of area offices employing locally-based staff. This allows the organisation to maintain strong connections with what is happening on the ground and an awareness of current issues and priorities.
