Elmwood to be nature organisation’s new home

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) staff moved to a new location in Cupar today on the Scottish Rural College’s (SRUC) Elmwood Campus.

The SNH Cupar office, formerly on the Crossgate, has been looking for a new office space for a number of years. The 16 staff have now moved into a refurbished space at Elmwood, formerly a children’s nursery.

Rhona McInroy, SNH operations manager in Cupar, said:

“Our move is an important part of our commitment to continue working to protect and improve Fife’s nature for even more people to enjoy – and when organisations share facilities, it reduces costs and carbon emissions too.  Now we’re neighbours, we look forward to working more regularly with SRUC.”

Prof Caroline Argo, Dean of SRUC’s North Faculty, added:

“We are delighted to welcome the team from SNH to Elmwood. The presence of SNH at Elmwood demonstrates our commitment to Fife and it creates new opportunities for our students. We have exciting plans to become a 21st century rural enterprise university and partnerships with organisations like SNH are an integral part of our future.”

SNH has 35 offices throughout Scotland. In the past five years, SNH has reduced its office carbon footprint by over 26%, with changes such as co-locations with other public bodies.

SNH Cupar staff may now be contacted at:
