Edinburgh residents invited to SNH reception

People in Edinburgh are invited to an informal reception next week, held by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), to find out about SNH’s work in the area, ask questions and give feedback to the nature and environment organization.

The event is being held at Granton Community Hub, from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, 8 November.

Join SNH's Deputy Chairman Sue Walker and SNH Board member Susan Murray to hear about conservation and nature work in the Forth area, including projects being planned to green Edinburgh even more. This is part of a £40m programme of urban regeneration and green infrastructure across Scotland’s towns and cities to build our health and well-being.

SNH is holding this event in association with the Granton Community Hub, which has kindly provided the venue. The Hub is a new, small charity doing amazing activities with a wide range of local groups. One success of the Hub has been establishing a community garden, which will also be highlighted on the 8th. Ian Mackenzie, the programme manager for Edinburgh Living Landscapes (ELL), will say a few words about this very successful partnership initiative of which SNH is delighted to be part of.

The Shore Line Project will also be featured, with a talk about this project which aims to connect Edinburgh residents with the city’s much overlooked shoreline and its internationally renowned wildlife.

The event is free and tea and coffee will be provided. To book a place, see https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/green-infrastructure-and-urban-biodiversity-making-a-difference-tickets-38938714744
